During the third day of the Wellington conference on cluster munitions discussions centred on clearance of unexploded cluster munitions and assistance for victims. The New Zealand Cluster Munition Coalition stepped up its campaigning with a petition action in Civic Square. Led by Nobel Peace Laureate Jody Williams, campaigners and members of the public lay down and had a chalk outline made of their bodies that they then signed, constituting a petition signature against cluster bombs.
