Malaria
Risk from P.falciparum throughout the year in the whole country excluding urban centres, the Red River delta and the coastal plain areas of central Vietnam. High risk areas are the highland areas below 1500 metres south of 18°N, notably Dak Lak, Gia Lai and Kin tom as well as Ca Mau, Bac Lieu and Tay Ninh. Resistance to chloroquine, sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine and mefloquine reported.
