Joint U.N. Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS)s is the best place to hunt for facts and figures and a general overview of the pandemic.
The
World Bank has a website on AIDS in the region which has a good overview and some links to interesting reports, including useful background briefs on the countries in the region.
The website also includes a prediction of the
economic costs if the epidemic goes unchecked.
The
University of California San Francisco School of Medicine's regional page on AIDS is an excellent source for regional reports.
It also has lots of links to AIDS organisations working in the area, plus information about regional conferences and workshops.
The
U.N. Development Programme has a page on AIDS in the region with some useful links.
