652,090 square km (1 km = 0.62 miles); bordering the Central Asian republics to the north, Iran to the west and Pakistan to the south and east. The northeast tip touches China.

Language
Pashtu is the national language and Persian is the commercial language. There are also various languages with Persian and Turkish origins spoken: Hazaragi, Turkmen, Uzbek, Aimaq, among others.
