Area
1,247,000 sq km (1 km = 0.62 miles) on the west coast of Africa, with Namibia to the south, Zambia to the east and the Democratic Republic of Congo (formerly Zaire) to the north. The tiny, oil-rich Angolan enclave of Cabinda is sandwiched between Democratic Republic of Congo and the Congo.

Language
The official language is Portuguese. African Bantu languages such as Ovidumbu, Kimbundu and Kikongo are also spoken.
