438,317 square km (1 km = 0.62 miles), bordered to the east by Iran, the south by Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, the west by Jordan and Syria and to the north by Turkey. There is a short stretch of Persian Gulf coast next to Kuwait in the southeast.

Language
Arabic is the official language, but Kurdish is also spoken.
