Area
458,730 square km (1 km = 0.62 miles), excluding the disputed Western Sahara (252,120 square km). It borders the Mediterranean in the north, the Atlantic Ocean in the west, Algeria in the east and southeast and Mauritania to the south. Much of the country is desert and traversed in the north by the Rif mountains, and, in a southwest to northwest direction, by the Middle Atlas, the High Atlas, the Anti-Atlas and the Sarrho ranges.

Language
The official language is Arabic. French and Spanish are spoken in some places. Berber is spoken in the mountain region.
