1.0 million sq km (1 km = 0.62 miles), bordering Sudan to the west, Kenya to the south, Djibouti and Somalia to the east and Eritrea to the northeast.

Language
Amharic is the official language of the government and all parliamentary documents are also written in English. There are at least 100 other languages spoken including Orominya, Tigrinya, Afar, Somali, Arabic, French and Italian.
