LONDON (AlertNet) - Following is a list of NGOs responding to the humanitarian crisis in the Caribbean, where two recent hurricanes, Ivan and Jeanne, have left death and destruction in their paths.
Grenada, the Bahamas and Jamaica were hard hit by Ivan, the biggest storm in living memory. Jeanne, which had been downgraded to a tropical storm by the time it hit Haiti, nevertheless triggered massive flooding and mudslides, killing hundreds and leaving many more missing.
While every effort has been made to provide as comprehensive a list as possible based on the latest information, it may not be complete.
AlertNet member NGOs involved in relief work in the region that are not included are urged to write to us at alertnet@reuters.com and publish information directly on the NGO latest section.
