Track and windspeed of Typhoon Songda

Typhoon Songda struck Japan as a tropical storm at about 18:00 GMT on 7 September. Data supplied by the US Navy and Air Force Joint Typhoon Warning Center suggest that the point of landfall was near 42.1 N, 140.9 E. Songda brought 1-minute maximum sustained winds to the region of around 83 km/hr (51 mph). Wind gusts in the area may have been considerably higher.
