Tropical storm Bilis struck China at about 00:00 GMT on 14 July. Data supplied by the US Navy and Air Force Joint Typhoon Warning Center suggest that the point of landfall was near 25.7 N, 120.3 E. Bilis brought 1-minute maximum sustained winds to the region of around 101 km/h (63 mph). Wind gusts in the area may have been considerably higher.
