Typhoon Mitag is forecast to strike the Philippines as a tropical storm at about 00:00 GMT on 27 November. Data supplied by the US Navy and Air Force Joint Typhoon Warning Center suggest that the point of landfall will be near 21.6 N, 121.8 E. Mitag is expected to bring 1-minute maximum sustained winds to the region of around 101 km/h (63 mph). Wind gusts in the area may be considerably higher.
