It’s been more the four weeks since an earthquake-induced tsunami devastated coastal communities in south east Asia. In response, Europe’s satellite imaging community continues to produce satellite maps to help to the humanitarian effort. Today, more than 120 sat maps of the affected region have been produced and published freely on the Internet.
This update summarises the types of sat maps available for Indonesia. Maps are concentrated on the north-west region of Sumatera, including Banda Aceh and Medan areas. Sateliite maps available include:
