The aim of the mapping was to provide baseline maps in support of humanitarian relief activities in the Shortepa regions. QuickBird 
0.6m false colour imagery acquired in 2008 was used as a backdrop of 1:7 500 maps. The maps display up to date information on infrastructure and hydrography, including water channels and ponds, in the 
area.
