Timor Oriental: el nuevo país toma sus primeros pasos independientes
Mónica Rafael Simões, licenciada en Relaciones Internacionales por la Universidad de Coimbra, Portugal, y colaboradora del Centro de Estudos para la Paz en Madrid, argumenta que el nuevo estado de Timor Oriental se enfrenta ahora en solitario a serios desafíos para crear una democracia independiente y sostenible. Según ella, resulta fundamental que esta joven nación consiga promover el desarrollo económico junto con la igualdad, estableciendo como prioridad el cuidado de las necesidades de los más pobres.
