Reminding everyone to take part in PoverTee Day and wear a t-shirt on Friday 26 June, ActionAid has created a giant T-shirt that
will be toured around the UK.
Measuring an enormous 30ft by 20ft, the giant tee boldly displays the slogan ‘End Poverty Together’. It has been decorated with designs by pupils
from schools around the UK, including Bristol, Leeds, Glasgow and Brighton, and reflects their thoughts on the issues around global poverty.
First stop on the tour was Brighton, where the
t-shirt was suspended from the famous Palace Pier (despite the ferocious sea ‘breeze), attracting the attention of many local residents and sunbathers.
Pupils from the local
Patcham High School, one of the schools to design a section of the t-shirt, attended the display to see their work in action.
The t-shirt is will go on to Leeds and continue to other
regions over the weekend and next week.
