SOLOMON ISLANDS: TSUNAMI RESPONSE

UMCOR partner Action by Churches Together continues to assess the situation in the Solomon Islands to determine the best way to provide immediate and long-term relief for the thousands left homeless by this disaster. The remote locations of the areas most in need pose serious challenges in responding to the disaster. UMCOR will provide assistance to any relief effort provided by our partners through ACT.

When you give to International Disaster Response, UMCOR Advance #982450, you help UMCOR to be at the ready to respond to this and other disasters worldwide.Online Giving

MOZAMBIQUE: FOOD AFTER THE FLOODS

UMCOR helped support an emergency food distribution and other relief efforts in Mozambique that gave needed assistance to thousands left homeless after a late February cyclone and flooding rains. "Thanks for food, for your heart of comfort and compassion as you share your resources with us," the Rev. Ana Maria Francisco, district superintendent said to a United Methodist New Service reporter.

Please give to support continued assistance in Mozambique through UMCOR Advance #156500, Mozambique Emergency.Online Giving

"This Medicine Box will serve many people who would not be able to get medicine otherwise," said a Medicine Box recipient in Angola. A Medicine Box contains 18 essential drugs and medical supplies-enough to treat illnesses and injuries in a population of 1,000 for three months. Medicine Boxes have proven to be of critical value from urban hospitals to rural and community health centers.
