SILVER SPRING, Md.--The Adventist Development and Relief Agency regrets to announce the passing of Maung Maung Khin, of ADRA Myanmar, who died around midnight, local time, Monday. April 6.

Khin was struck by a car while walking home late Sunday evening, and died at the scene of the accident. The cremation and funeral were held Tuesday.

Khin had worked for ADRA Myanmar since 2006, as a field assistant and translator in the Northern Shan State, contributing to ADRA Myanmar's mission through its community water projects, agricultural projects to replace opium poppy production, Food for Education and Food for Work projects. Khin, who was a member of the Shan minority group, spoke Myanmar, Chinese, and Shan.

"Khin was a vital part of the ADRA Myanmar family, and we request your prayers for his family and for our staff as we cope with this tragedy," said Doug Havens, country director for ADRA Myanmar. "He will be sorely missed, both by the ADRA team, and by the communities where he worked."

ADRA is a non-governmental organization present in 125 countries providing sustainable community development and disaster relief without regard to political or religious association, age, gender, race or ethnicity.
