WER
As the situation in Sudan continues to drift in and out of the world's headlines, WER is preparing an immediate shipment of 45 tons of humanitarian aid and essential medical supplies for distribution to communities continuing to suffer in conditions of extreme poverty.

This latest WER support to Sudan will be distributed to people living in remote communities where basic social services, including healthcare facilities or safe water sources, are severely lacking. Distribution will be co-ordinated by WER's local partner agency, ANCC Sudan.

Working in partnership with local aid agencies, WER is ensuring that essential aid is reaching communities which are often overlooked by the international community.

WER has been providing support to people in Sudan since 2004 and is the only international aid agency to have actively responded to the needs of local communities during a major cholera outbreak in Ikotos district in southern Sudan in 2006.

WER has launched an emergency appeal to raise funds which are urgently needed in order to provide further essential humanitarian assistance to Sudan. To make a donation, please visit WER's emergency appeal website www.red-e.org.uk.

You can also donate by phone. Please call WER on 0870 429 2129 today.
