Situation
A magnitude-7.1 earthquake struck Honduras on its Atlantic coast on Thursday (May 28). The quake, centered 80 miles north-northeast of Le Ceiba, Honduras, caused at least six deaths, injured 17 people and destroyed 80 homes. Some affected areas remain without water or electricity.
CWS Response
Action by Churches Together members and CWS partners working in Honduras -- including Christian Aid, the Comision Cristiana de Desarollo, DanChurchAid, Swiss Interchurch Aid and the Lutheran World Federation -- are currently assessing the situation.
