“We are seeing a steady inflow of donations from people who are clearly giving what they can in these difficult times and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our donors. We will continue to accept, with deep gratitude, any and every donation to our appeal” commented Irish Red Cross Secretary General, John Roycroft as the appeal raised close to €40,000 so far.

Internationally, the Red Cross is helping people in four countries in Asia struck by disasters in less than a week and is now appealing for just under €12 million to fund urgent shelter, food and medical needs.

“These are people who have lost their families, homes, and livelihoods in just a few minutes and who are now depending on help from the Red Cross. The support of Irish people in providing this help is greatly appreciated,” added John Roycroft.
