LOS ANGELES (May 13, 2008) Los Angeles-based international relief agency, Operation USA, announced today that it is responding to the 7.9 quake affecting Sichuan Province in central China. As the Chinese Army is the lead agency in immediate disaster response, Operation USA and other international relief agencies are planning to assist in the reconstruction of schools and clinics as the rescue stage is completed.

The agency issued an appeal for funds from the general public and from corporate and foundation donors.
