The sublime music of George Frideric Handel and the extraordinary story of how it was composed are brought to vivid life in a stunning musical drama at Sydney Opera House on Sunday 27 May 2007.

Live on stage, the great 18th century composer - played by actor Peter Whitford in full period dress - faces a 21st century interview with SBS Television's chief news presenter Mary Kostakidis as interlocutor.

And interlacing the dialogue, over 450 singers and musicians, including principal soloists from Opera Australia, will perform a selection of Handel's most glorious compositions.

All proceeds to Save the Children Australia
