On International Day of People with Disabilities, World Vision Azerbaijan Children's Program bestowed special attention and gifts for very young beneficiaries of the project.

Children with severe disabilities, the majority of whom are bed bound most of the time, were the first to be met by the two professional theater performers invited for this event.

Dressed in bright clown costumes they played with children, sang and danced for them.

The clowns later performed for the rest of the children gathered together to watch the program in a dinning room of the boarding house for children with disabilities. Children were very happy to get balloons and sweet gifts from funny guests. Each of them received a bag with bakery, candies and juice.

Within the Project 'Well being of children in residential care' WV Azerbaijan Children's Program has implemented significant interventions in #3 Mardakan Internat (boarding house) for Children with Disabilities.

Currently, there are about 127 children residing at the Internat who are diagnosed with various physical and psychological disabilities such as cerebral palsy, sight or hear impairments, development delay, learning disability, etc. The age of residents ranges from 4-18 years old.

Since 2005, Children's Program has established an education process and sport activities program at the Internat.
