Jan. 14 - The joint peacekeeping force is establishing its presence in Sudan's Darfur region.
The joint patrols face an uphill struggle as commanders warn of the dangers they face following an attack on a supply convoy in the same week the new peacekeeping teams took over from the African Union mission.
