Sep. 18 - Haiti officials fear a health crisis could erupt as the flood-stricken city of Gonaives faces an acute water shortage.

Haiti is one of the world's poorest countries and the three storms that hit the country in the past few weeks, Hurricanes Gustav and Ike and particularly Tropical Storm Hanna, have provoked a national crisis, damaging infrastructure and flattening crops. Food distribution is an equally pressing problem especially affecting the elderly and young.
