Jan 22 - As the number of cholera cases tops 48,000 opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai says the outbreak highlights the urgent need for functional government.
Tsvangirai's plea came as he visited a clinic in Harare to assess the country's spreading cholera epidemic which United Nations agencies say has killed nearly 2, 800 of those infected.
