FACTBOX-Security developments in Iraq, May 11

May 11 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1525 GMT on Sunday:

BAGHDAD - U.S. forces killed eight militants on Saturday and Sunday in Baghdad's Adhamiya and Sadr City districts, the U.S. military said in a statement.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb targeting the convoy of deputy Finance Minister Fadhel Mahmoud wounded six civilians near the Iranian Embasy in Salihiya district, central Baghdad, police said. No finance ministry officials were in the convoy.

BAGHDAD - Three bodies were found in different districts of Baghdad on Saturday, police said.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb wounded two people near Palestine Street, eastern Baghdad, police said.

NEAR KIRKUK - Two bodies were found with gunshot wounds and signs of torture just north of Kirkuk, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

KIRKUK - Two people were wounded by a roadside bomb blast targeting a police patrol in central Kirkuk, police said.

OTHER DEVELOPMENTS:

BAGHDAD - Daily violence in Sadr City calmed significantly on Sunday, a day after rival Sh'ite political factions agreed a plan to end weeks of fighting between U.S. and Iraqi forces and militants loyal to anti-American Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr.
