SOCHI, Russia, Aug 14 (Reuters) - German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she had strongly condemned the killing of aid workers in Chechnya during a meeting with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Friday.

"We spoke about the sad news concerning the murder of representatives of non-government organisations in Chechnya," she told a news conference after the talks in the Black Sea resort of Sochi.

"I made clear that we obviously condemn this in the strongest terms, just like the Russian side," she added.
