UN envoy expects to meet Myanmar junta chief

YANGON, Sept 30 (Reuters) - United Nations special envoy Ibrahim Gambari expects to meet Myanmar junta supremo Senior General Than Shwe before he leaves the military-ruled country, the U.N. said in a statement on Sunday.

"He looks forward to meeting Senior General Than Shwe, Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council, before the conclusion of his mission," it said.
