BANGKOK, May 14 (Reuters) - Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej failed on Wednesday to convince Myanmar to open up for international relief operations and ease visa rules for aid workers, he said after returning from a day trip in Yangon. "He insisted that his country with 60 million people has a government, its people and the private sector to tackle the problem by themselves," Samak told reporters in Bangkok after meeting Myanmar PM Thein Sein in Yangon for 2 ½ hours. "They are confident of dealing with the problem by themselves. There are no outbreaks of diseases, no starvation, no famine. They don't need experts, but are willing to get aid supplies from every country," Samak said. Samak said he was told the generals had deployed four divisions of troops to help the survivors, setting up 600 relief centres capable of helping 1,000 people each.
