SRINAGAR, India, Nov 16 (Reuters) - At least 23 workers are missing after a bridge they were building in Indian Kashmir's mountainous Uri area, about 100 km (60 miles) west of Srinagar, collapsed in a river on Sunday, police said.

"Rescue and search operations have been launched, but no bodies or survivors have been found so far," said Anand Jain, a senior police officer.

The cause of the bridge collapse near the Line of Control, a military control line that divides Kashmir between India and Pakistan, was not immediately known, Jain said.
