FACTBOX-Security developments in Iraq, June 29

June 29 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1215 GMT on Friday:

* denotes new or updated items.

* BALAD - Three bodies were found by the Iraqi army in Balad, 80 km (50 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

* TIKRIT - Three people were seriously wounded by a roadside bomb in Tikrit, 175 km (110 miles) north of the capital, police said.

* HASWA - A pipeline supplying fuel to a power station was blown up on Thursday night near Hawsa, 50 km (30 miles) south of Baghdad, police said. They said the explosion triggered a fire that had since been brought under control.

BAGHDAD - Five U.S. soldiers were killed and seven wounded on Thursday by a roadside bomb attack on their patrol in Baghdad, the U.S. military said.

KIRKUK - One policeman was killed and another officer was wounded when gunmen opened fire on them in separate attacks in Kirkuk, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad, Iraqi police said.

FALLUJA - U.S. forces said they killed three suspected insurgents and detained 26 others in separate operations on Friday to the west and south of Baghdad and in Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of the capital.

BAGHDAD - Four people were killed in a mortar attack in the Al-Fadhil district of the capital overnight and 10 more people were wounded in four other mortar strikes in different locations in the city, the Interior Ministry said.

BAGHDAD - Fifteen bodies have been found in different parts of the city in the last 24 hours, police said. They had been shot and some bore signs of torture.

MOSUL - One insurgent was killed and two were detained in Mosul following a clash with police, the police said.

KUT - The body of a university lecturer was found beside a river in Kut, 170 km (105 miles) southeast of Baghdad, one day after he was kidnapped, police said.

KUT - One woman was injured after a roadside bomb attack on a U.S. patrol in Kut, police said.
