PRISTINA, August 7 (Reuters) - Kosovo police arrested two men on suspicion of stealing seven laptops from a NATO military base in the northern part of the country, police said on Friday.

The laptops, which have since been recovered, had been stolen two days before from a base outside the flashpoint town of Mitrovica where French troops are stationed. The French command in Mitrovica did not give details about the data stored on the laptops.

About 14,000 NATO troops remain in Kosovo to oversee the Balkan country's fragile peace. The alliance has said that the number of troops in Kosovo will be reduced to a little more than 2,000 over two years.
