Sept 12 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Sri Lanka at 0800 GMT on Friday: KILINOCHCHI DISTRICT - Sri Lankan troops killed at least 19 Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) rebels and wounded five others in a rebel-held area 300 km (185 miles) north of Colombo on Thursday, military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said. He said one soldier was killed and 11 wounded in skirmishes. ANDANKULAM - Five Tamil Tiger rebels were killed and 16 wounded in six separate clashes in Andankulam, a Tiger stronghold about 15 km (10 miles) south of the northeastern port of Mullaittivu, on Thursday, the military said. Two soldiers were wounded. VAVUNIYA DISTRICT - Sri Lankan troops killed four Tamil Tiger rebels and wounded two in a battle in Vedamakulam, about 255 km (160 miles) north of Colombo, on Thursday, the military said. It said six rebels were killed and six wounded in nearby Pallamodai. Another two were killed in Periyakunchikulam in an army ambush on Thursday, the military said. JAFFNA PENINSULA - One rebel was killed by soldiers in the Karandiyankadu area on the Jaffna peninsula, 395 km (245 miles) north of Colombo, on Thursday, the military said. AMPARA - Two police Special Task Force commandos were wounded by a booby trap in the Kanchikudichcharu jungle in Ampara, 345 km (215 miles) east of Colombo, on Wednesday, the pro-rebel www.tamilnet.com website said, quoting unidentified LTTE officials. MONARAGALA - Police found the bodies of seven farmers who had been shot in a jungle area in Kotiyagala in the eastern district of Monaragala, 255 km (160 miles) from Colombo, on Thursday, the military said.
