COLOMBO, Jan 2 (Reuters) - A loud explosion shook the Sri Lankan capital on Friday, minutes after the country's president had announced the capture of the separatist Tamil Tiger rebels' headquarters town of Kilinochchi, the military said.

"There is a suspected suicide attack in front of Air Force headquarters in Colombo," said a military official, asking not to be named. There were no details of any casualties. (Reporting by Ranga Sirilal; Editing by Alex Richardson)
