NEW DELHI, Dec 2 (Reuters) - At least 10 people were killed and five seriously injured when a bus fell into a deep gorge in a hilly north Indian state on Saturday, officials said. The bus was carrying about 25 people when it plunged 200 metres (650 ft) en route from Shimla, a popular hill resort in Himachal Pradesh state, to New Delhi, senior official Rajesh Kumar told Reuters over the telephone.

It was not immediately known if the victims were tourists.

"Rescue operations are over. The injured have been shifted to hospital," Kumar, who was speaking from near the accident site, said.
