Indian police arrest 4 militants in Delhi shootout

NEW DELHI, Feb 4 (Reuters) - Four militants were arrested after a shootout with police in the centre of the Indian capital late on Sunday, police said. Karnal Singh, joint commissioner of the Special Cell, a counter-terrorism unit, said the shootout erupted near Barakhamba road in central New Delhi. "We got information about the movements of these men and when police officers tried to confront them, there was a shootout ... but we managed to arrest them and there were no injuries," Singh told Reuters. He said the four -- a Pakistani national and three Indian nationals from the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir -- had admitted to belonging to the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad militant group. Three kilograms of RDX explosives, four detonators, one timer, six hand grenades and a gun as well as $10,000 and 50,000 indian rupees ($1,140) was recovered from the men, Singh said.
