DHAKA, March 23 (Reuters) - At least six people were killed and 30 injured in Bangladesh after the summer season's first storm swept a southern island district, police and residents on said Friday.

The storm with winds of up to 80 km (50 miles) per hour damaged about 100 houses in the district of Bhola late on Thursday.

At least 30 people were in hospital with cuts and bruises caused by flying debris, a resident told reporters.

Summer storms that occur between March and June kill hundreds of people in Bangladesh every year.
