-- Vietnam's population is expected to rise to 93.7 million by 2015 from 84.1 million now, the population council said as it planned to raise about $60 million to invest in contraceptives to control population increase.

-- India would be Vietnam's most important partner in many sectors, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said after completing his visit to the country.

-- Developers said they would need about 27 trillion dong ($1.7 billion) to reinforce the dyke along the Red River in Hanoi and build new urban centres over 1,500 hectares (3,700 acres) on both sides of the river.
