-- Eximbank said its pre-tax profit during the first five months of this year surged 92 percent from the same period last year to 260 billlion dong ($16.26 million).

-- Thong Nhat Rubber Company and Tay Ninh Rubber Company have finalised paperwork to list shares on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange <.VNI>.

-- Vietnam has produced 1.12 million tonnes of sugar as of mid-May, a rise of 49 percent from a year ago. The country is projected to turn out 1.3 million to 1.35 million tonnes under the 2006-2007 crushing season, industry officials said.

-- Petrovietnam's PV Trans has signed a contract with Petrovietnam Finance Company, Petrovietnam Insurance Co and Vietcombank to establish a company to operate three crude oil tankers worth $190 million. State-run shipbuilder Vinashin has been hired by PV Trans to build the tankers.
