HANOI, June 1 (Reuters) - These are some of the leading stories in the official Vietnamese press on Tuesday. Reuters has not verified these stories and does not vouch for their accuracy.

FINANCIAL NEWS:

THOI BAO KINH TE VIETNAM

-- Bank loans in Ho Chi Minh City rose 29.1 percent during the first five months from a year earlier to 571.8 trillion dong ($30.1 billion) while deposits during the same period advanced 22.1 percent to 629.8 trillion dong, the city's statistics department said.

-- Sahabank <SHB.HN> will raise its registered capital 75 percent to 3.5 trillion dong by issuing 150 million shares in early June.

-- Vietnam has disbursed an estimated $844 million of official development assistance loans in the first five months, or 35 percent of the annual plan, said the Planning and Investment Ministry.

TUOI TRE

-- Online orders failed to reach the trading system of the Hanoi Stock Exchange <.HNXI> during the first 30 minutes of Monday's session, the exchange said.

-- Lending rates stood at 14-16 percent recently but banks were asking for additional fees of 1-2 percentage points, companies said.

ECONOMIC AND GENERAL NEWS:

VIETNAM NEWS

-- The government has urged good preparation for the country's first nuclear power plant, slated to open in the central province of Ninh Thuan in 2014.

-- Vietnam's inflation is expected to remain modest in June, with the start of tourism season and some unusual weather likely to have a minor impact on food and beverage products, the Industry and Trade Ministry said.

NHAN DAN

-- Health workers contained a bird flu outbreak in Ea Hu commune in the central highland province of Daklak after slaughtering 2,200 ducks and set up checkpoints to control the movement of poultry in late May.

LAO DONG

-- An investigation last month found 24 private coffee companies in the central province of Daklak had lost the ability to make payments and they owed farmers a combined 1,788 tonnes of coffee and 37 billion dong in cash, a provincial industry and trade official said.

TUOI TRE

-- The Civil Aviation Administration plans to seek Transport Ministry approval to revoke the business licence of Vietnam's first private airline, Indochina Airlines, for lacking necessary conditions for further operation, an official said.

THOI BAO KINH TE VIETNAM

-- Vietnam can keep this year's trade deficit at 20 percent of its total exports, as targetted, said Industry and Trade Minister Vu Huy Hoang. (Reporting by Hanoi Newsroom)
