FINANCIAL NEWS: VIETNAM NEWS -- Infrastructure developer Cavico Corp <CAVO.OB> has become the first Vietnamese enterprise to list on the U.S. stock market following Nasdaq's approval last Friday. THOI BAO KINH TE VIETNAM -- The consumer price index of Ho Chi Minh City this month increased an estimated 1.59 percent from August and 4.29 percent from the same period last year, the city's statistics department said. ECONOMIC AND GENERAL NEWS: VIETNAM NEWS -- The police ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have begun for the first time an inspection of expat-owned cars that benefit from special tax exemptions to look for tax violations. VIETNAM INVESTMENT REVIEW -- Vietnam's economic growth rate in 2010 is forecast at 6.0-6.5 percent, said economist Vo Tri Thanh, deputy head of the Planning and Investment Ministry's Central Institute for Economic Management. TUOI TRE -- Steel production will reach 7 million tonnes by the end of this year, or 3 million tonnes more than demand, the Vietnam Steel Association estimated. THANH NIEN -- One woman in Daklak province and one woman in Binh Phuoc province died at the weekend from the H1N1 flu virus, health officials said. THOI BAO KINH TE VIETNAM -- The Ministry of Planning and Investment said it will submit to the government this month a "post-stimulus package" plan to follow the $1 billion interest rate subsidy scheme which ends in December. -- Seafood exports are expected to average $400 million per month between now and the end of the year thanks to strong demand from European buyers, the trade ministry said.
