FINANCIAL NEWS:

TUOI TRE

-- Bao Viet <BVH.HM> shareholders have agreed to transfer all the 20.4 million BVH shares previously held by ship builder Vinashin to state investment arm SCIC.

THOI BAO KINH TE VIETNAM

-- The Hanoi Stock Exchange's special platform for government bond trading that opens on Thursday is expected to boost liquidity on the debt market, the director of the exchange, Tran Van Dung, said.

VIETNAM NEWS

-- Foreign workers without proper documents in Vietnam now face deportation, following stricter management and control by the Labour Ministry.

HANOI MOI

-- Vietnam needs to generate 88 billion to 93 billion kilowatt hours of electricity next year to meet a demand forecast to rise between 17 and 20 percent, according to the national strategy on the power sector's development.

SAIGON GIAI PHONG

-- Seasonal floods are rising quickly in the Mekong Delta and the local authorities are speeding up efforts to relocate people from dangerous areas.

LAO DONG

-- Vietnam has detected more than 7,600 people infected with the H1N1 flu virus and 10 of them have died, the Health Ministry said.

-- Vietnam's imports this year are projected to fall 13 percent to $70 billion, while exports could reach $59 billion, leaving the annual trade deficit at $11 billion, down from the $17 billion deficit in 2008, the Industry and Trade Ministry said.

TUOI TRE

-- Vietnam now has 110 million telephones, 87.9 percent of which are mobile phones, or a density of 129.6 units for every 100 people, the Information and Communications Ministry said.

THANH NIEN

-- Trade between Vietnam and France in the first seven months of this year rose 8.3 percent from a year before to 1.03 billion euros, of which Vietnam's exports to France jumped 2.44 percent to 746.6 million.

THOI BAO KINH TE VIETNAM

-- Vietnam's industrial output this year is forecast to rise 8 percent from 2008 to 698.8 trillion dong ($39.2 billion), led by the state sector's growth of 10.6 percent, the Industry and Trade Ministry said. (Reporting by Hanoi Newsroom)
