Blog: Pollution dims Asian skies - UNEP

NAIROBI, 14 November 2008 (IRIN) - Clouds resulting from burning fossil fuels and biomass, combined with greenhouse gases are "dimming" sunlight by up to 25 percent in Shanghai, Beijing, New Delhi, and Karachi, UNEP says in its report entitled Cities Across Asia Get Dimmer: Impacts on Glaciers, Agriculture and the Monsoon Get Clearer.
