ISLAMABAD, July 4 (Reuters) - A curfew was imposed around an Islamabad mosque where nine people were killed in clashes between religious students and security forces on Tuesday, and students in the mosque were ordered to surrender their weapons.

"A curfew has been imposed in that particular area," Deputy Interior Minister Zafar Warraich told a news conference early on Wednesday broadcast live on television.

"We request them to surrender their arms. Any person who comes out armed, or tries to use arms, will be shot," he said.
