Pakistan says kills 60 militants in air strike

MINGORA, Pakistan, Oct 17 (Reuters) - Pakistani forces killed about 60 Islamist militants in an air strike in the northwestern Swat Valley on Friday, the military said.

"Jet fighters pounded positions of the militants and killed 60 of them. Two of their training camps were also destroyed," Major Nasir Ali, the military spokesman in the region, said. The claim could not be independently verified. (Reporting by Junaid Khan, writing by Zeeshan Haider)
