MIRANSHAH, Pakistan, Aug 21 (Reuters) - A suspected U.S. drone fired missiles into Pakistan's North Waziristan tribal region early on Friday, but there was no immediate word of casualties, intelligence officials and residents said. The strike on Darpa Kheil village, about two km (one mile) from North Waziristan's main town of Miranshah was third such strike by CIA-operated drone aircraft in Pakistani tribal areas in this month. Pakistani and U.S. officials believe Pakistani Taliban chief Baitullah Mehsud was killed in a similar strike in neighbouring South Waziristan on Aug. 5.
