ISTANBUL, Oct 2 (Reuters) - One person was killed and two were injured in an explosion in the Turkish Aegean city of Izmir on Tuesday, television channels said, and police said the blast was caused by a bomb in front of a bank.

A police spokesman earlier confirmed that two people had been injured in a separate blast caused when a percussion device ripped through a rubbish bin in front of a shopping centre in the city.
