Indonesian woman dies of bird flu -health ministry

JAKARTA, May 14 (Reuters) - An Indonesian woman from Sumatra island has died of bird flu, increasing the country's human death toll from the disease to 76, a health ministry official said on Monday.

Runizar Ruesin, head of the ministry's bird flu centre, said by telephone the 26-year-old woman died on Saturday evening in a hospital in Medan.

He said that two tests had confirmed she had the H5N1 bird flu virus.
